M80C/M81C
This kiosk was brought out in both America and Europe.
The first model was the M80C with a 13” RGB monitor. The second model was the M81C and came out with a 20” TV. In America, it cost $1000USD and an extra $300USD for the M80L base. The M81C cost $1250USD and $350USD for the M81L base (going by the 1993 order forms).
The kiosk has stereo speakers to each side of the top SNES light and a speaker housed internally, which gives the sound more depth. (I believe there are a few different speaker and console lid variations with this kiosk ). The sound is adjusted by a small screw on the side of the kiosk.
The unit utilises a timer to determine in store play duration. It can be changed to 1 minute play, all the way up to 15 minutes. Having just the 5 switch on will create unlimited play.
They were designed to be used on a shelf or counter, or alternatively as a floor model with the base
Some of these SNES kiosks got a make over to promote the Super Gameboy, changing the top sign and side stickers for it.
Some European units were remodeled as early Nintendo 64 kiosks, some alterations and the colour scheme changed to reflect the new generation of console.
The SNES kiosk used in Australia is quite different to the above – I will post about the Australian SNES kiosk in the future.
